This is a very interesting paper on breeding female with female figs, done in 1965. Finn Kjellberg kindly sent it to me and if you read the last page, he gives his thoughts on the outcome from this breeding. The 3 pages are below, to read, then 2 pages from Condit's paper...The Fig, It's History, Culture, and Curing, telling us that male flowers can be found in female figs, and below them is the pdf for the 3 page paper by Serafimova, for anyone wanting it.
